MKCL

Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited (MKCL) is a Public Limited Company promoted by the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra. It was incorporated on August 20, 2001, under the Companies Act, 1956. The governmental coordination of the affairs of MKCL is looked after by the Directorate of Information Technology, General Administration Department (GAD) of Government of Maharashtra.

Its main mission is to create new paradigms in Education, Development, Governance and Empowerment (EDGE) of masses by bridging the Digital Divide. It strives to achieve this mission objective in a business format by universalizing and integrating variety of applications of Information Technology (IT) in the lives of common people.

With its range of products and services, MKCL has emerged as a Fast-track IT Enabler, Business Process Re-Engineering Partner, Knowledge Partner, and Digital Transformation Catalyst of the educational institutions such as schools, ITIs, Polytechnics, Colleges, and Universities as well as that of the government and semi-government organizations, public, private, and joint-sector enterprises, so also that of the community development organizations, civil society organizations, cooperatives, charitable foundations, mission mode project organizations, and skill development missions of various state governments.

MKCL has also emerged as a catalyst that enables communities to solve their developmental challenges on their own. MKCL as a Knowledge Partner, helps communitize, instead of governmentize, the problems faced by common people and helps in solving them in social business format.
